The short answer
mydawAI is a free (in beta) medicine reminder service that reminds you and your family on WhatsApp, reads prescriptions from a photo, and refills from your local pharmacy after your yes. It speaks English and Hindi, and its assistant is Chintu the koala.
This is the complete list of questions people ask about mydawAI, answered plainly. If yours is not here, the short version is: mydawAI is the easiest way in India to remember your medicines and refill them from your local pharmacy, all on WhatsApp.
What is mydawAI?
mydawAI is a medicine reminder and refill service built for Indian families. It reads your prescription, reminds you and your family on WhatsApp, tracks stock, and asks your local pharmacy to refill when you say yes. The full overview is in what is mydawAI.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Reminders come on WhatsApp, and you tap Taken right in the chat. There is a web app at app.mydawai.in for your schedule, family, pharmacies and talking to Chintu, and it works on any phone browser.
How do I sign up?
Go to app.mydawai.in/signup, enter your name, email, WhatsApp number and a password, then confirm your number on WhatsApp. That is it.
How much does mydawAI cost?
Nothing while in beta. There is no card on your account, so nothing can be charged.
How do I add my medicines?
Three ways: take a photo of the prescription, record a voice note, or type them in.
- Photo or PDF: mydawAI reads it, see prescription photo to reminders
- Voice note: say them in English or Hindi, see voice note reminders
- Manual: add a medicine with its times and dose
- Ask Chintu: "add Vitamin D every Sunday at 9 AM", then confirm
What does a reminder look like?
A WhatsApp message with the medicine, dose and food instruction, and one Taken button. A dose can be marked taken from 30 minutes before its time, and only on its own day, so your history stays honest.
Can I manage medicines for my parents or kids?
Yes. Add them to your Care Circle, with no limit on family members. Their reminders go to their own WhatsApp once they agree, in their own language.
What happens if my parent misses a dose?
If you turn on alerts for that family member, mydawAI resends the reminder at the interval you set, and if it still goes untaken, it alerts you on WhatsApp so you can check in.
How do refills work?
Every Taken dose comes off the count. With auto-refill on, mydawAI asks you on WhatsApp when stock runs low. Only after you say yes does the order go to your local pharmacy, on their WhatsApp, during their working hours (9 AM to 6 PM).
Who is Chintu?
Chintu is the mydawAI koala, your assistant on WhatsApp and by voice in the app. It answers questions about your schedule, can mark a dose taken, and can make changes after you confirm them.
Is Chintu a doctor?
No. Chintu can share general information about the medicines on your list, but it never diagnoses or changes a dose. For anything urgent, call your doctor or 112.
Which languages does mydawAI support?
English and Hindi, for you and for each family member separately.
Is my data safe?
Medicine names, doses, notes and chats are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, uploaded files are encrypted before storage, and everything is hosted on AWS in Mumbai. Your data is never sold or used for ads. Details are in keeping prescriptions private.
Does mydawAI work with my local chemist?
Yes, that is the point. You add your own local pharmacy, and orders reach them on WhatsApp. No delivery-app middleman, no new account for the chemist.
Can I get a louder reminder than WhatsApp?
Yes. Turn on the optional full-screen reminder in the web app, with a choice of styles and sounds.
Why choose mydawAI over a phone alarm?
| Phone alarm | mydawAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Knows the medicine name and dose | No | Yes |
| Reads your prescription | No | Yes |
| Logs whether you took it | No | Yes, one tap |
| Reminds family on their own phone | No | Yes |
