How AI Helps You Take Medicines on Time: mydawAI

The short answer

AI helps you take medicines on time by removing the hard parts: reading the prescription, setting up the schedule, answering everyday questions and spotting when stock is low. mydawAI uses AI for exactly that, with Chintu the koala on WhatsApp and by voice, while you review every change and your doctor stays in charge of the medicine itself.

How can AI help me take my medicines on time?

AI helps by doing the tedious work around medicines, so taking them on time becomes simple. In mydawAI, AI reads your prescription, turns a voice note into a schedule, asks about anything missing, and answers your questions on WhatsApp, while every reminder still arrives at a fixed time with a one-tap Taken button.

The reason people miss medicines is rarely that they do not care. It is the friction: a confusing prescription, too many alarms to set, no idea when the strip will run out, and nobody to ask a quick question at 10 PM. AI is good at removing friction.

Can AI read my doctor's prescription?

Yes. mydawAI reads a prescription photo or PDF and lists the medicines, timings and doses it finds. It understands common prescription shorthand like OD, BD, TDS and 1-0-1 patterns, and only uses timings that are actually written.

If something is unclear or missing, mydawAI asks you instead of guessing, for example "when should this one be taken?" or "did I read this name right?". You review the full list and confirm before anything is saved. Read prescription photo to medicine reminders and how to read a doctor's prescription.

Can I set up medicines by just speaking?

Yes. Send mydawAI a voice note in English or Hindi listing your medicines. AI turns it into a list, asks follow-up questions for anything you did not mention, and shows you everything to check. This helps people who find typing medicine names hard. See voice note medicine reminders.

Who is Chintu?

Chintu is the mydawAI koala, an AI assistant you can chat with on WhatsApp or talk to by voice in the web app. Chintu knows your own medicine list and schedule, so you can ask:

  • "What do I take tonight?"
  • "When is my next dose?"
  • "I took my morning tablet."
  • "Change my evening reminder to 9 PM."
  • "How did I do this week?"

For changes, Chintu shows a summary and asks you to confirm before anything is saved. Learn more about Chintu, the AI health assistant on WhatsApp.

What will the AI not do?

mydawAI's AI never diagnoses, never changes or approves a dose on its own judgement, and never replaces your doctor. Chintu can share general, well-established information about medicines on your list, such as what a medicine is commonly prescribed for or whether it is usually taken with food. For decisions about your treatment, it points you to your doctor or pharmacist. For anything urgent, call your doctor or 112.

These limits are built into the product, not left to chance.

Does AI decide when my reminders go off?

No. Your reminders go out at the times you confirmed, every day or on the days you chose. AI helps you set them up and keep them up to date, but the reminder schedule itself is fixed and predictable. Each WhatsApp reminder has a Taken button, and that tap is what records the dose.

How else does mydawAI help me stay on track?

By closing the gaps around the reminder.

  • Stock count: each Taken tap lowers the count, so you know before you run out.
  • Auto-refill: when stock is low, Chintu asks you first, then sends the order to your local pharmacy only after you say yes.
  • Family alerts: if a family member misses a dose, mydawAI retries and then alerts the caretaker.
  • Languages: English or Hindi for each person.

Is AI safe with my health data?

mydawAI encrypts medicine data, chats and uploaded prescriptions at rest with AES-256, and hosts them on AWS in Mumbai. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.
