Is mydawAI Safe and Legit? Privacy, Consent and Data

The short answer

Yes. mydawAI is a real Indian medicine reminder service at mydawai.in. Medicine data and uploaded prescriptions are encrypted with AES-256 and hosted on AWS in Mumbai, your data is not sold or used for ads, no card is ever asked for, and nobody gets reminders on their WhatsApp until they agree with a tap.

Is mydawAI a real service?

Yes. mydawAI is a medicine reminder service built in India, live at mydawai.in. The app is at app.mydawai.in, email comes from hello@mydawai.in, and mydawAI is on LinkedIn (linkedin.com/company/mydawai) and Instagram (mydawai).

It is in beta, which means it is free and still adding features, not that it is a test. Reminders, family care and refills all work today.

How does mydawAI protect my medicine data?

Your medicine data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and hosted on Amazon Web Services in the Mumbai region.

  • Encrypted in the database. Medicine names, doses, notes, chat messages and family details are stored encrypted, so someone with only database or backup access sees scrambled text.
  • Encrypted files. Prescription photos, PDFs and voice notes are encrypted before they are stored, on top of the storage provider's own encryption.
  • Hosted in India. Data lives on AWS in Mumbai.

To be honest about the limits: mydawAI's own servers must read your medicine names to put them in your reminders and to let Chintu answer you. Encryption at rest means stolen data is useless, not that mydawAI can never see it. More detail is in keeping prescriptions organised and private.

Does mydawAI sell my data?

No. mydawAI does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising. There are no ads in mydawAI.

Will mydawAI charge my card?

No. mydawAI is free during beta and never asks for a card. Because there is no card on your account, nothing can be charged. If someone asks you for payment in mydawAI's name, it is not us.

Can someone add my number without my permission?

No. Every WhatsApp number has to be confirmed by its owner with a tap.

  • When you sign up, mydawAI messages your number first and you confirm it.
  • When a caretaker adds a family member, that person gets a WhatsApp asking if they want to join. Reminders go to their phone only after they tap yes.
  • Tapping "This wasn't me" or replying STOP stops the messages.

Pharmacies are treated the same way: saving a pharmacy sends nothing, and an order reaches the chemist only after you say yes to it.

Does Chintu give medical advice?

No. Chintu shares only general, well-established information about the medicines on your list. It never diagnoses, never changes or approves a dose, and points you to your doctor or pharmacist for medical decisions. For anything urgent, call your doctor or 112.

How do I know I am on the real mydawAI?

Check the address: mydawai.in or app.mydawai.in. mydawAI is a different service from similarly named companies, see mydawAI and My Dawai Wala.
